Effective date: 2026-10-20. This privacy policy applies to the Arya Mac app, the local and hosted browser editors, and this website.
Mac app and local projects
The Arya Mac app and the local browser editor (run from source) store your project files, imported footage, proxy media, transcripts and exported renders locally in the folders you choose on your Mac. Editing, grading, motion graphics, audio mixing and exporting happen on your device without uploading your files to Rubix Labs. Transcription uses Apple speech recognition in the Mac app, which runs on your Mac when supported and otherwise sends the audio to Apple, or whisper.cpp on your Mac in the local browser editor.
No telemetry or analytics
Arya contains no telemetry, analytics, crash reporters, advertising scripts, user accounts or tracking cookies in the Mac app, the browser editor or this website. Fonts and product captures are self-hosted on this domain.
Website hosting and logs
This website and the hosted browser editor are served by Vercel. When your browser loads a page or asset, Vercel receives standard HTTP request data, including your IP address and browser user agent, and keeps standard request logs under its own privacy policy. Mac installer downloads are served by GitHub Releases under GitHub's privacy policy.
Contributions are not open yet, and this site takes no payments.
Hosted browser editor
The hosted browser editor at /editor/ runs in your browser and stores project records in IndexedDB and imported media and rendered outputs in your browser profile's origin-private file system. Loading or using the hosted editor does not upload your project media to an Arya server.
Browser storage belongs to your local browser profile and origin. Clearing site data, deleting a browser profile, storage eviction or closing a private window removes that work. Export a .arya backup with its media to keep a copy outside browser storage. The hosted browser editor does not include the AI assistant, Figma import or transcription.
AI assistant accounts
Assistant editing is optional and runs through your own Claude Code, Codex or Google Gemini (beta) account. When you send a prompt in the Mac app or local browser editor, Arya sends your prompt and relevant project context (such as selected layer properties, titles, transcript text or rendered frames) to Anthropic or OpenAI through their official CLI or API. Those providers' terms and privacy policies apply. Arya does not read or copy your CLI credentials, and optional API keys stay in the macOS Keychain on your device.
Figma tokens
Figma import is optional and available in the Mac app and local browser editor. Your Figma personal access token stays on your device and is used only to fetch the Figma frames and assets you select for import.
